Universal Children's Day

Universal Children's Day takes place annually on November 20th.

Children's Day (= International Day for Protection of Children) was established in 1954 by the United Nations General Assembly.

On November 20th, 1956 UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child (Декларация прав ребенка).

Convention on the rights of the Child (Конвенция о правах ребенка) was then signed on the same day in 1989. 

In Russia Children's Day is celebrated on the 1st of June.
